Mail & Supply Ships |
The basic service provided by
these ships is connecting local communities, such as the Marquesas Islands in French
Polynesia or along the coasts of Norway and Labrador, bringing them mail and supplies. The
British Royal Mail Ship, St. Helena, makes longer trips from the U.K. to South
Africa as well as to the Ascension, Canary and St. Helena Islands. And, while the
Windjammers fleet of tall ships sail around the Caribbean Islands, the Amazing
Grace shuttles between them carrying passengers as well as supplies. |
